I mustache you a question....isn't it totally wonderful when we are blessed with opportunities to reconnect with friends that we haven't seen in years? That's what happened to me on Monday, when my friend, Catherine, and I had a chance to spend several hours together again! She and her family moved to Texas about 6 years ago and we have been moving around as well so our paths have not crossed again until a few days ago. Time together just HAD to include a visit to a craft shop (in this case, Hobby Lobby!) as we are crafting buddies from waaaaay back! Couldn't resist this photo op! Love you, Catherine! Miss you and Yo-Yo Yellow so much!Amyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06991136633954894150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7728129115303140567.post-20822130470461758612012-08-05T18:05:00.000-04:002012-08-05T18:05:38.271-04:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It was fun to use my SU bird punch to create this card. Heading into fall colors is also one of my favorite things - can fall ever arrive too early? At our church, we have a Card Ministry. We make cards to sell in our gift shop in order to raise money for Missions. This is one of the cards that I made for the shop. It's my version of a card that I saw on Pinterest.Amyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06991136633954894150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7728129115303140567.post-12145040554340968112012-08-02T20:50:00.000-04:002012-08-02T20:50:32.242-04:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is the wedding card I made for some sweet friends, who recently were married in Washington. I loved making all the flowers to add to the embossing. I cut a little "v" at the end of each of the petals and decorated each one with a pearl in the center. Added a small butterfly and a sentiment and it was the card that accompanied their homemade wedding gift, which is pictured here:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Three blocks of wood, decorated with custom printing on designer paper, and then mod-podged. I added a piece of antique lace around the edge of the entire piece, which was woven through a metal piece on top which said, "Blessings". (Sorry that didn't show up in the picture.) <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I covered the wooden frame (Michael's) with designer paper (also from Michael's). I then spelled out my sentiment with pebbles (also from you know where), glued them in place with Tacky Glue and covered the entire project with Mod Podge. I printed the poem that I wrote on the computer and then inserted it in the frame. My dear sweet friend loved it! Hope you do too! PS - there really are literally 60 rocks! I printed out the poem, cut it so that it could go above and below their work, and then will change the center to denote the season. I'm looking forward to their next project and will update and post accordingly! Thanks for letting me share this with you!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Friends at the Needlecrafters Ministry were making them and they shared the pattern with me. I won't bore you with all the details but suffice it to say that a LOT has happened! We are now in San Diego - yes, as in clear across the country from Florida - and I have survived yet another surgery! Praise God! We have plugged into one terrific church - Shadow Mountain Community Church - and I have become a part of the Needlecrafters Ministry! What a wonderful group of new friends! I have been knitting like crazy to create these adorable little hats and booties for baskets that are given to families in the church who have new babies as well as the premies at a local hospital! Take a look at my creations and keep watching for more posts in the near future!<br />

Our daughter and I have spent an incredible week together with the boys in Orlando, having been joined by my terrific mom-in-law, who flew down on Tuesday! Tonight, Gramp and Uncle Bryan will also join us so that tomorrow we can all go to the Disney Character Breakfast together! These boys are just so incredibly precious and have come such a long way in the last 12 months, when they were born 6 weeks early. I can't even imagine what life was like before they arrived - they bring so much joy and happiness to us all! I'll be posting photos of tomorrow's adventures as well but I thought I'd give you a sneak peak of Alex's birthday card (Jason's is exactly the same but has HIS name in it)! Hope they like them and all their presents and all the fun we're gonna have.....<br />

These are some of my SOS Jax friends (missing Lynn and Sharon and a few others). We have become good friends over the months we've been in Jacksonville and have such a great time together! Our fearless leader, Lee, is second from the left, and "it's ALL her fault"! She's the best! She's a great Stampin' Up demonstrator and a great friend as well. She inspires all of us! I'm really going to miss these special friends and hope to be able to stamp with them again soon!<br />
